Melancholy times – is it the Corona effect?
There are days full of fun, you
are always on the run
Time whizzes by like a fly, there
is not a moment to cry
The soul is set free, you can
feel the sense of calm
And moments full of glee
On comes Corona and changes the world order. Or does it?
Everywhere you look these days
you try to look for something on how to be happy — how to manifest abundance,
desires and success, find your bliss.
A quick Google search will
produce instantaneous remedies for the blues: the promise that it’s possible to
find happiness in 10 or 15 easy steps. Some strategies promise happiness in as
few as three steps.
Some people may have a feeling of
melancholy in this situation, a feeling of being caged which adds to the
melancholy.
We live in the times of FOMO (Fear of missing out) and want
to lap up as many things into our already overcrowded and over packed lives, over
packed with lots of unessential things, things which we never even reflect on.
its time to move on from FOMO to JOMO (Joy of missing out)......
JOMO is the antithesis to FOMO.
If you’ll miss out on this thing
that you can’t stop thinking about, what will you gain instead?
There will be always an upside to
everything, you just have to find it and switch your mind from what you lose to
what you gain instead. Very quickly you won’t feel like missing out anymore!
Understand that you cannot have
everything, but you can choose the things that you actually want.
If you suggest spending a few
minutes alone to anyone you will often hear comments like, “I’m too busy to
make time for myself,” or “I can’t sit still. I need to be productive.”
Inserting a little solitude into
your overfilled schedule isn’t a waste of time, however. The busier you are, the more likely you are
to benefit from some quiet time.
Most people spend a lot of time
planning events and vacations but never plan how to get the most out of life.
Spending time alone can give you a chance to ensure there’s a purpose to all of
your hustling and bustling. Quiet space provides an opportunity to think about
your goals, your progress, and changes you want to make in your life.
Being alone with your thoughts
along with an opportunity to do something for yourself is a gift. Your soul
craves that time for you to experience something that will fill you up so that
you can give of yourself more freely and fully.
An online survey called The RestTest showed that the majority of activities people defined as most restful are
things that are done solo.

Social distancing means getting closer to yourself. Don’t
miss the opportunity.
Remember………
The day is still of fun, you are
no longer on the run
Time stands still, but there is
not a moment to cry
You feel the racing pulse, and
the sound of your beats
Is it not a time, to give
yourself a treat
